PetPair
PetPair is a pet adoption platform headquartered in Austin, Texas.[1] The company was founded in January 2022 by Daniel Miyares and Aanandh Chandrasekar.
In 2022, PetPair raised $1.2 million in order to expand its team and its adoption offering beyond Texas.[2]
History
Miyares and Chandrasekar met as classmates at The University of Texas at Austin and leaders of The Genesis Program,[3] a student-alumni organization that supports student entrepreneurs. PetPair was founded after Miyares encountered numerous issues trying to adopt an animal in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2020. [4]
In 2022, PetPair raised $1.2M from venture capital funds including Bling Capital, Expansion Ventures, Divide by Zero, Newlin Ventures, Great Oaks VC, and Hornet Ventures.[2]
Accolades
The founding team of PetPair was named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Consumer Tech list in 2023 for their efforts to connect overcapacity shelters with adopters.[5]
