Peter Samsonov

Peter Samsonov, commonly known as TankArchives, is a Canadian military historian who specializes in armoured warfare during the Second World War. Samsonov currently lives in Podolsk, Russia.

Samsonov is most known for his online blog, TankArchives, in which he translates Soviet documents into the English language and creates posts about tanks and other weapons in the 1930s and 1940s. As of August 2021, his blog gets over 1,300 views per month.[1]

In 2019, Samsonov finished his first book, Designing the T-34, about the Soviet T-34 tank. In April 2021, he announced the completion of his second book, Sherman Tanks of the Red Army.
