Phạm Minh Chính (born 10 February 1958) is a Vietnamese politician currently serving as the Head of the Central Organizing Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam and is ranked 3rd in the country's 13th Politburo.
Early life[edit]
Phạm Minh Chính was born on December 10, 1958 in Hoa Truong village, Hoa Loc commune, Hậu Lộc District, Thanh Hóa Province,[1] Democratic Republic of Vietnam, into a family of eight siblings. His father was a local official and civil servant, and his mother worked in the field. In 1963, he joined his family in building a new Economic Zone in Phong Son town, Cẩm Thủy District, Thanh Hóa Province. As a child, he attended high school at Cam Thuy High School in Thanh Hóa Province.
After graduating from high school in 1975, he studied foreign language preparation at Hanoi University of Foreign Studies. In 1976, he was sent as a student to Bucharest, Romania, during the Eastern European Socialist Republic of Romania. He studied Romanian and majored in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB), until in 1984 he graduated in Civil Engineering. In 2000, he successfully defended his Doctor of Laws thesis, becoming a Doctor of Law. On March 9, 2010, he was promoted to associate professor of law by the Council of State Professors.
Phạm Minh Chính was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam on December 25, 1986, becoming an official member on 25 December 1987.
