Career[edit]
While at business school where he earned a BA in political science from BYU Hawaii and an MBA from Willamette University, Catudal established Zoned Nutrition,[6] an online supplement retailer.[7] In 2014 he relocated to Los Angeles to grow the business and develop a personal training element arm to it.[8] Catudal sold Zoned Nutrition in 2016 and launched Trained by Phil.[9] In 2015, he co-founded Tranzend Health, a wellness supplement company.[10]
Catudal developed a personal training client list including Lena Dunham, Danielle Fishel and Van Jones.[11] In May 2019 he published, with health writer Stacey Colino, Just Your Type,[12] based on a theory that 70 percent of people exercise the wrong way.[13] He is also a contributor to Everyday Health,[14][15] Women's Health (magazine)[16] and PopSugar.[17]
Personal life[edit]
According to Catudal, he successfully battled with childhood leukaemia between the ages of three and eight, something which fuelled his love of fitness.[5] His father Pierre, a weightlifter and marathon runner, died of brain cancer aged 45, while his brother Dave Catudal has also fought cancer.[5] Catudal is now married with three children.[18]
