Philip Adejumo (born 8 August 1996) is a Nigerian swimmer specializing in the 100 meter butterfly.[1].

He competed in the 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly at the 2018 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) and the 2019 African Games where he placed 5th[2]. He holds Nigerian national records in five disciplines.

Adejumo was ranked and selected to represent Nigeria in the 100 meter butterfly at the 2020 Summer Olympics on Universality, but did not compete at the event[3][4]. Nigerian swimmer Abiola Ogunbanwo, who competed in the women's 100 metre freestyle, was the sole Nigerian athlete to compete in swimming at the Olympic Games[5].

Adejumo was also entered in the 100 meter and 200 meter butterfly at the 2020 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) but was unable to compete due to FINA COVID-19 provisions[6]

Education

He attended University of Maryland, Baltimore County[7]. After college, he continued swimming at the Nashville Aquatic Club and Yale Bulldogs[8]. Adejumo is currently an MD/PhD student at Yale University[9].
