Phillip "Phil" Dooley is a pastor in the Pentecostal Australian Christian Church.[1]
Biography[edit]
Born in 1968, Dooley grew up in the affluent Sydney suburb of Castle Hill, New South Wales|Castle Hill]] in the 1980s as the Hill Song church was beginning to grow, in what was at the time the Sydney bible belt. Dooley graduated from Caste Hill High School in 1984.
Dooley attended Hillsong through high school and was mentored by Brian Houston, before joining the staff in 1996 where he served as Youth Pastor of Hillsong United for many years.[2] In 2008 he became Lead Pastor of Hillsong Capetown[3]
Phil is married to Lucinda who he met at the Hillsong church youth group .[citation needed] Phil and Lucinda have three children [4] From 2022, he replaced Brian Houston as head of the Hillsong church. [5][6][7] He step into the leadership role of a divided church and is seen as somewhat of a "cleanskin"
