Phinhas VII
Phinhas VII was the 106th Samaritan High Priest according to Samaritan Genealogical Records.
He is the most recent Samaritan High Priest for which Gaster's documents and traditional documents line up[1] perhaps indicating his role as the first clearly historically documented Samaritan High Priest
Ottoman rule began in Palestine in 1516. The total number of Samaritans at this time is given as 500 people who lived in Cairo, Gaza and Damascus in addition to Nablus. The census of 1538/38 names 29 Samaritan households in Nablus, from which a number of 178 people can be estimated[2]
