Publication history

Phosphorus Rex first appeared in Batman and Robin #1 (August 2009), and was created by writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely.

Fictional character biography

Phosphorus Rex is a pyrokinetic metahuman and a member of the Circus of Strange.[1] After the Gotham City Police Department apprehends Mister Toad, the Circus attacks their base before Batman and Robin stop them.[2]

In The New 52 reboot, Rex and Pyg appear as inmates of Arkham Asylum.[3]

Powers and abilities

Phosphorus Rex has pyrokinetic abilities. His body is constantly surrounded by fire that is harmful to others, but not himself.

Other versions

An alternate timeline variant of Phosphorus Rex appears in Batman in Bethlehem.[4]

In other media

Phosphorus Rex appears in Beware the Batman, voiced by Greg Ellis.[5] This version is Milo Match, Tobias Whale's lawyer and chief enforcer.
