Piedmont bioregion

The Piedmont bioregion comprises the piedmont areas of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and northern Georgia as defined by the principals of bioregionalism.
Natural history[edit]
Erosion of the piedmont plateau created iron-oxide rich clay soils. Three general landforms exist. Flat ridges, Hillsides and, Floodplains. Each landform has its own Ecology.
