Pierre-Pascal Urbon (born 1970) is a German entrepreneur and author.[1]
Life[edit]
Urbon was born 1970 in Bielefeld.[2] He graduated in economics (Dipl-Kfm.) and is an INSEAD alumni (AMP / LEAP).[3][4][5] In 1997 he started his career as a mergers and acquisitions advisor in Germany. He became vice president of Drueker & Co (today Houlihan Lokey) in Frankfurt am Main. In 2005, Urbon switched to SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA), Kassel/Niestetal, and was appointed to the company Board in 2006. He focused on the internationalization of the company and prepared the initial public offering in 2008.[2][6][7]
Urbon became the chief executive officer of SMA in 2011.[8][9][10] As the CEO he was the architect of the strategic alliances with Danfoss A/S (2014) and other strategic partnerships (e.g. Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund, Audi, Miele, etc.).[11][12][13] Furthermore, he was responsible for the successful transformation of SMA in 2014/2015.[14][15] Due to Urbon's influence, SMA focused more on digitalization, artificial intelligence and data driven solutions for their clients.[1][16]
Urbon served on the Board of Directors of Tigo Energy from 2016 to 2018. In October 2018, he voluntarily resigned as CEO of SMA.[17][18]

Urbon lives in Kassel, is married with Ute Urbon[9], and is father of two children.[8]
