Pietro Savi
Pietro Savi (20 May 1811 – 9 August 1871).[1] was an Italian botanist.
Life
Pietro was the son of the eminent botanist and mycologist Gaetano Savi (1769–1844)[2], who was professor and director of the botanical garden in Pisa.[3] He became assistant to his father in 1830. He became adjunct professor in 1839 and full professor in 1844.[4] He also succeeded his father as director of the botanical garden from 1842–1871[5]
The geologist Paolo Savi was his brother.
