Advocacy for women in the workplace[edit]

As a mother and a professional, she is deeply aware of the challenges women face balancing their work and personal lives.[23] Even prior to her first management position at Munich Re, Albo was instrumental in launching a women’s network at the company’s German headquarters.[24] The network addressed key issues such as opportunities for women in the company, and achievement of work/life balance. She also helped to establish a company-sponsored, bilingual daycare and after school care center for company employees.[25]

At Munich Re America, she expanded on her Germany-based initiative, working with the human resources department to formalize a company-wide women’s network that provided both networking and professional-development opportunities.[26][27] Then in 2010, she was executive sponsor of a diversity initiative created to encourage the advancement of more women and minorities within the company.[28] She has also spoken publicly about the importance to women of networking, seizing opportunities, and taking the initiative to prove capabilities.[29] In 2018, Albo was named as an ambassador to the Insurance Supper Club, a business network for women in the insurance industry.[30]
