The LGBT variant of the Pink Jack

The Pink Jack is the British gay flag, symbolising a gay British identity [1] It also represents a Britain that recognises the rights and equality of LGBTQI citizens [2]

The flag was created by British artist David_Gwinnutt and first launched at London's gay pride march in 2006.[3] The flag is a play on the traditional Union Jack, replacing the blue triangle sections with the colour pink, referencing the Pink triangle homosexuals were marked with in the Nazi concentration camps.[4]

In 2013 Gwinnutt was voted 16th in the Independent Newspaper's Pink List of the most influential LGBT people in Britain in recognition of the significance of the design.[5]
