Pioneer Resources is an ASX listed (ASX code PIO) junior exploration company with a portfolio of lithium, gold, nickel and base metals projects in established mining and exploration regions in Western Australia. The company also pursues joint venture and acquisition opportunities.
Pioneer has a large multi-commodity project portfolio with exposure to the commodities lithium, caesium, nickel, gold, copper.
Its flagship project is the Pioneer Dome Project near Norseman, Western Australia, which includes the Sinclair Caesium Mine and the Dome North Lithium Project. It also has the Blair Nickel Mine and Golden Ridge Nickel and Gold Project, the Acra Gold Project JV with Northern Star Resources and the Kangan Gold Project JV with Novo Resources Corp in the Pilbara.
The company listed on the ASX in December 2003 as Pioneer Nickel. In July 2009, it formally changed its name to Pioneer Resources.
