Pisaasu II (lit. Pishacha; English: Phantom) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language gothic horror film written and directed by Mysskin for Rockfort Entertainment, producer T Murugananantham's banner, starring Andrea Jeremiah in the lead and Vijay Sethupathi in a cameo role. The film, a sequel to the director's 2014 film Pisaasu, has Karthik Raja, son of Ilaiyaraaja,[1] as the composer.[2][3]
The film was initially slated for 31 August 2022 release in 4 languages,[4] but the makers have reapplied to get a 'U/A' certificate against the already received 'A' certificate, thus postponing the release of the film indefinitely.[5]

Production
After Mysskin left the project Thupparivaalan 2 due to creative differences and financial issues,[8][9] he announced the sequel to his successful film Pisaasu as his next project.[3] Andrea Jeremiah was the first actor to sign the film, reportedly set in the early 90s.[10] On 5 October 2020, Mysskin shared a picture on his Twitter account, where he is seen engrossed in writing the screenplay.[11] The film completed its second schedule in a forest region.[12] Actor Santhosh Prathap was signed to play an important role to be filmed in the final schedule.[7] The cast and crew of the film wrapped up the complete shoot on 1 September 2021.[13] The crew released the teaser of the film on 29 April 2022.[14] The second song of the film, "Nenjai Kelu", sung by Priyanka NK was released on 25 August 2022.[15]
