PLASTA is one of the largest polyethylene recycler and plastic products producer in Europe employing about 500 workers. More than 32 thousand tons of post-consumer plastic waste is recycled every year. Firm develops and implements the most advanced recycling technologies. Over 25.000 tons per annum of plastic products are produced out of recycled raw material produced in-house. PLASTA’S flagship product is waste bags. Half a billion bags are sold every year. Also firm is producing various purpose pipes.

History[edit]

On 16 July 1961, PLASTA launched its activities as an advanced, modern, and experimental plastic manufacturing company in the Soviet Union. At that time, the plant employed about 2,000 employees. The plant produced various plastic products and films from primary raw materials, and the production was supplied to the entire Soviet Union. 1991 Installation of modern waste recycling lines PPL-500, IPL 1000. 1993 PLASTA becomes a private Company. 2003 started installing especially modern equipment for producing garbage bags. 2006 Beginning of the expansion to the UK. 2012 forms a new management team. Then acquisition of three new granulators Erema. 2015 Terrasoft ERP system is fully implemented. 2017 PLASTA purchases Milljosack (SE) Factory equipment for relocation to Lithuania

Activities[edit]

PLASTA produces more than 25 thousand tons of various plastic products per year from recycled and own-produced secondary raw materials. Almost 98% of the company production is made from secondary raw materials obtained using own modern plastic recycling equipment.

PLASTA manufactures pipes of various intended, films, and plastic sheets, various blown, molded and pressed products. Nearly 100 extrusion lines and garbage bag manufacturing equipment (Hudson sharp, FAS, Coemter) manufacture standard, tied, patented technology Knotty-type bags, as well as bags with handles. Every month PLASTA produces and sell more than 1700 tons rubbish bags. Product quality is ensured through tests at the company lab.

PLASTA sells their production in the Lithuania and exports in the foreign markets. At this time, exports are 85% of all production. More than half products PLASTA is selling to West Europe. Also some products are exporting to Scandinavia countries and lesser part of production is selling to East Europe.

2000 m. „Plasta“ the quality management system has been certified and meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001: 2008. The certificate is updated every half year.

2016 m. BRC Certificate: is a certificate that guarantees that the manufacturer meets the high requirements of retailers and confirms the quality of PLASTA's products.
