Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II
The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II is expected to be celebrated in June 2022 in the United Kingdom to mark the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952.[1] An extra bank holiday will be created and the traditional May bank holiday weekend will be moved to the start of June.[2] A Platinum Jubilee medal will be awarded to members of the armed forces and other public servants and the British government has promised a festival that will "mix the best of British ceremonial splendour and pageantry with cutting edge artistic and technological displays".[3]
