Play For Keeps is the second studio album by Canadian power pop band, The Elwins. The album was released on February 24, 2015, through Hidden Pony Records.
Recording
Recording for the band's sophomore album began shortly after their 2013 tour. This was the first album to feature newcomer Francesco Figliomeni as an official member, as he replaced original bassist Christopher Shannon. The album was recorded at Fox Sounds Studio in Toronto, ON. Play For Keeps was supported in part by funding through the Department of Canadian Heritage and Canada's private Radio Broadcasters. [3]
Release & Promotion
The album was released in North America under Hidden Pony Records, in Europe under Affairs of the Heart, and in Japan through Moorworks. The band supported the release with tours of Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan. [4]. The first single, "So Down Low", reached No. 12 overall at alternative radio in Canada. The single charted for six months and was used in a Canada-wide advertising campaign for Fido.
Upon its release, the Play For Keeps album was streamed in its entirety on Exclaim!'s website, as well as Soundcloud.
