Dr. Plourde Vallon is a Haitian-American military veteran, organizational leadership scholar, and gospel musician. He served over 24 years in the United States Army, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and later earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) specializing in Organizational Leadership. Vallon is also known for his involvement in faith-based leadership writing and gospel music.
Early life and education
Plourde Vallon was born in Petite Rivière de l’Artibonite, Haiti, into a large family with five sisters and two brothers. He immigrated to the United States in his youth. Vallon attended Broward Community College before transferring to the University of South Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
He later pursued graduate education at the American Military University, earning two Master of Arts degrees in Management and in Transportation and Logistics Management. In 2025, he completed his Doctor of Business Administration at Walden University with a specialization in Organizational Leadership.[1]
Military career
Vallon served in the U.S. Army for more than two decades, culminating in his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in December 2022. His career included leadership roles in logistics, movement control, and operational planning. He deployed multiple times, including to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he commanded units and coordinated logistics operations.
Throughout his service, Vallon emphasized the U.S. Army’s seven core values—Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage—as a framework for leadership development.[2]
Academic and professional work
Following his military retirement, Vallon focused on organizational leadership and consulting. His doctoral research explored strategies to enhance teaching quality in higher education through faculty review processes, drawing on frameworks such as the Baldrige Excellence Framework and Stakeholder Theory.
He founded Vallon Leadership Solutions, a leadership consulting initiative, and has served as a Baldrige examiner, evaluating organizations on performance excellence criteria.[3]
Writing and publications
Vallon is the author of works on values-based leadership, including the book Faith and Valor – Leading with the Seven Army Values (2025). His writings often integrate personal experiences from the military with leadership principles and Christian faith.
He has also worked on a second book, Warrior Leadership: A Strategic Approach to Leading in Any Environment, which bridges military and civilian leadership practices.[4]
Music career
In addition to his military and academic work, Vallon is an experienced gospel musician. He has performed in multiple gospel bands and released albums and singles available on major digital platforms. His music emphasizes perseverance, faith, and spiritual encouragement.[5]

Vallon has been married since 1995 and has three children. He remains active in his church community and frequently incorporates his Christian faith into both his leadership philosophy and his creative works.
