Josh Elledge is an American serial entrepreneur, consumer advocate, motivational speaker, podcast host, and syndicated columnist. He is the founder and CEO of Savings Angel and Up My Influence (UMI). Elledge is known as an expert in the TV consumer and public relations industries. He has a syndicated column with a readership above 1.1 million readers as well as more than 2,000 media appearances.[1][2][3]

Early life[edit]

Elledge created his first business in middle school, selling candy.[4] Elledge served as a journalist in the U.S. Navy for five years (1990–95), stationed at Adak, Alaska and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.[5][6][7] After the Navy he married and created a mobile DJ company, an internet development company, an internet service provider, and a small town newspaper.[4][8]

Career[edit]

Elledge is known as a consumer advocate, an authority on coupon and professional savings, and an expert on online influence and authority.[9][10][11] He has appeared on television and radio more than 2,000 times, has appeared on more than 75 different television shows, and has reached 1.1 million weekly readers with his syndicated column via MLive.[12] He has made media appearances on The Huffington Post, WGN 720, ABC 7, Mashable, The Chicago Tribune, Family Life Radio, the Los Angeles Times, Fox 35, Woman's Day, Parents, and Sirius XM.

Savings Angel[edit]

Elledge founded the company SavingsAngel.com in 2007, claiming that it offered a service he needed himself.[13][5] Savings Angel is a consumer savings site that offers coupon and sale-matching services to its members. Elledge was able to launch the business with no startup capital by securing free media coverage.[14][4] SavingsAngel.com has employed more than 50 employees and grossed more than $6 million in sales with less than $500 in advertising.[12]

Up My Influence[edit]

Elledge founded Up My Influence (previously upendPR) in 2014.[15] Up My Influence is an authority marketing business that aims to help entrepreneurs grow their authority by getting exposure (e.g. media appearances).[16]

Speaking[edit]

Elledge has made over 2,000 media appearances in television, radio, and podcasts.[17][18] He has spoken at numerous business and startup conferences including Social Media Marketing World,[19] Tony Robbins Business Mastery webinar, Podcast Movement,[20] FinCon,[21] and the Military Influencer Conference.[22] He's also worked as a corporate speaker for State Policy Network, Great Clips, Florida BlogCon,[23] Michigan Womens Expo, and the Florida Lawn & Garden Expo.

Elledge is a popular guest on podcasts and is the host of three podcasts of his own: The Savings Angel Podcast,[5] The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Podcast, and Authority Confidential.
