Pobreflix Brazil is a website and a mobile app used to watch movies and tv shows online for free.
The platform works as an automatic indexer. PobreFlix does not store films and / or series on the website / platform. PobreFlix indexes content (s) found on the web automatically using Robots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IMDb API.
In other words, Pobreflix works as a search engine to find free content online.
This website focuses on a Brazilian audience and allows for users to find free content in English and in Portuguese, for better access to the user.
The name "PobreFlix" makes direct reference to the platform Netflix, while using humor. The word "pobre" in Portuguese directly translates into "poor", a humorous reference to people who cannot afford to pay for Netflix. (i.e. PobreFlix = PoorFlix)
As they claim., many paid streaming services are considered expensive by many, especially considering the income inequality of Brazil (gini coefficient).
PobreFlix was created out of the desire to make entertainment accessible to all (Brazilians).
Some of the features present in the app include accessing your search history, downloading videos, being notified of new releases, etc.
The platform is also available for download on Google Play.
