Lake at Pontefract Park

Pontefract Park is a public park in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, England. It is one of three large public parks in the town; the others being Valley Gardens and the grounds of Pontefract Castle. The park is situated within the running circle of Pontefract Racecourse.

Location[edit]

The park is situated off Park Lane to the North West of the town centre. The closest railway station is Pontefract Tanshelf.

Facilities[edit]

The park has a lake, wooded areas, a picnic area, trails, a childrens' playground, sports pitches and a golf course. Situated within the park is the Aspire@thepark leisure centre.[1]

Nature reserve[edit]

Pontefract Park North is a nature reserve featuring grassland, woodland, wetland and a lake.[2]
