Pooh & The Inspirations is an American traditional gospel music quartet.
Career[edit]
Pooh and The Inspirations are a Billboard charting,[1] Stellar Award, Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award (TGMEA), Soul Train Music Award nominated and Chosen Voice Awards winning gospel recording group from Tampa, Florida. The band is signed to Veca Records.
The group was founded as Pooh & The Young Inspirations in 2002 by T. Pooh McClary. The original members of the band were T. Pooh McClary, Nate House, J. Floyd, and Jermaine Smith. Today, the group is still led by Pooh McClary, and consists of Jermaine Smith, Ciscero Carr, Marlo Kelly, Gene Aikens, and Andrew Holder. The group has since dropped "Young" from their moniker and now goes as Pooh and the Inspirations. Pooh McClary is the younger cousin of Motown singer/songwriter, Thomas McClary, co-founder of The Commodores. Pooh started the band and has remained the primary songwriter for the group; Pooh also writes for other gospel artists such as Paul Porter.
