Pran G Basak

Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Pran G Basak is a Bangla poet, was invited by many organizations and used to take part in poetry reading/ Kabi Sammelan in various parts of India, Bangladesh and Europe.

Born in 1955 in a remote village of Bengal. His parents moved in a small town from East Bengal. As a result of displacement his parents suffered a lot. He was virtually a worker in his childhood in a weaving factory even before going to school and also worked as a part-time bidi worker during his student life.

He finally moved to Delhi in 1980. After a period of writing in little magazines and periodicals, his poems were published in his first collection of poems, named 'Jal Taane…. Taane Kobita'. Till now, he has published thirteen collections of poems, one short-story volume and one satire in Bengali. He is one of the leading writers of today's Delhi in Bengali poetry. He writes regularly in various little magazines published from different parts of India and Bangladesh.

His selected works (during 2003-2006) compiled in his recently published book SAMUDRIK MAYANACH attracted a lot of critical appraisals and have been reviewed in several magazines & newspapers. It is highly appreciated by the critics for his approach, presentation, language and for NUTAN KOBITA. His latest self composed collection of poems included in 'Chihnito Chhaya Aar Shab(2013) ',16E April: EKANTE(2014) attracted a lot.

Edited two literary journals in Bengali, 'Anuran' and 'AborodhVasini' was associated with 'DILLI HAATERS' a little magazinewith the difference in Delhi. Executive Member, Poetry Club of India. ARAVALLI, an organization dedicated towards progression of Bengali Poetry is his brainchild. He edited one compilation of Bengali Poems of eleven poets of Delhi named'DILLI HAATERS KOBITA SANKALAN'.

He holds regular literary meets at his residence.
