Prarthana School is a private school located in Padmanabhanagar, Bangalore, India. The school is the dream of Sri. Ravi Belagere.[1]. The school is a blend of culture and traditional values and recreational activities along with education.
The school was established in 2002[2]. It is noteworthy to mention that the institution is running without taking donations. The school has been catering to the needs of around 7500 children who mostly belong to economically middle class and lower middle class families.[3]
Its main motto is ‘Play and Learn’. The school has included co-curricular activities into the curriculum, which has helped the students to exhibit their hidden talents. Celebration of national festivals is an important duty and source of pride in the institution.
The school has seven blocks. The school has a beautiful and unique infrastructure in all seven blocks to cater to the needs of young minds. The school is housed with well-ventilated and spacious classrooms. Above all, all the classrooms are equipped with CCTV and SMART CLASSES with DTS. The school has various facilities like transportation, Science Lab, Math Lab, Computer Lab, Library, Music, and Sports[4]
The school has various activities such as Talents Day, Environment Day, Polling at Prarthana, Investiture ceremony, Co-curricular activities, celebration of national festivals, Sports Day, Biannual Day, SHAPES-science, humanities and arts club of Prarthana. The school has helped its children to learn different folklores. Some of the notable folklores such as Dollu Kunita, Veeraghase, Kamsale, Patta, Mallakamba, Rope Mallakamba, Niradhara Malla kamba, etc. are taught to the children by well-known trainers.
