Pratap Singh Singhvi

Pratap Singh Singhvi (Born 18 February 1957) is an Indian politician of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is currently serving as Member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Chhabra (District Baran, Rajasthan). He also held the post of State Minister (Independent charge) of Local Self Government, Urban Development, Housing, Forest, Environment, Youth Affairs and Sports Department in Government of Rajasthan from 31 May 2005 to 10 December 2008.

Early life

Pratap Singh Singhvi was born on 18 February 1957 in Chhipabaraud (District Baran, Rajasthan). He is son of Prem Singh Singhvi, He held the post of Member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 1967 and 1977 from Chhabra (District Baran). He vacates his seat for Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, who became chief minister of Rajasthan in 1977. Pratap Singh Singhvi completed his education from Jiwaji University, Gwalior.

Personal life

Pratap Singh Singhvi married Aruna Singhvi on 6 March 1979.  He has one son and one daughter.

Political career

In 1985, Pratap Singh Singhvi entered the Indian political system when he was elected Member of the 8th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Chhabra (District Baran). He elected Member of Legislative Assembly in 8^th, 9^th, 10^th, 12^th, 14^th and 15^th in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Chhabra (District Baran). He also held the post of State Minister (Independent charge) of Local Self Government, Urban Development, Housing, Forest, Environment, Youth Affairs and Sports Department in Government of Rajasthan from 31 May 2005 to 10 December 2008.
