Early Life[edit]
Born and raised in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, Praveen developed an interest in filmmaking at a very young age. After his dad bought a video camera, Praveen started to experiment with the camera with his friends Harsha Chemudu and Shanmukh Jaswanth.[2] They soon started to gravitate towards filmmaking and acting. Praveen made several short films that have been streamed on YouTube.
He has graduated from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management and studied briefly at Whistling Woods International where he learnt cinematography. He has also worked as a cinematographer in a few other Telugu films before fully pitching and directing Cinema Bandi.[3] Praveen met producers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. at NFDCI film bazaar with his pitch of Cinema Bandi; where he narrated the story and went on to make a short film of the same on their request. Once the short film is shown to the producers, they were impressed and produced the project[4].
