The Premier Group of Companies whose corporate headquarters is in Islamabad is a Pakistani conglomerate whose main asset was originally the Premier Sugar Mills and Distillery Company which is located in Mardan. Premier Sugar is also the controlling corporate shareholder for Chashma Sugar Mills, Dera Ismail Khan (established 1988), the largest sugar mill in Khyber Pakhtunkwa Province and among the largest five in the country, with shareholding of 48 percent. Premier is also the holding company of subsidiary Frontier Sugar Mills, Takhtbhai, Mardan - with a shareholding of 82.5 percent. Frontier being the first sugar mill in what is now Pakistan (established 1938). Whole Foods (Pvt.) Limited is a 100 percent subsidiary of Chashma Sugar Mills and is involved in the business of providing storage facilities for agricultural produce. The company's distillery operations are relocating to Dera Ismail Khan.[1]
It was announced in January 2021 that the company intends to close the Mardan operations as farmers are selling their sugar cane to gurr producers.[2]
