Prestariang Berhad
Prestariang Berhad (MYX: 5204) was incorporated in 2003 as Prestariang Systems Sendirian Berhad and is the leading technology and talent innovator of Malaysia. In July 2011, a holding company - Prestariang Berhad is formed and listed under Main Market Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, placing the pioneer company Prestariang Systems Sendirian Berhad as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Prestariang Berhad since. Its main shareholder is Maybank Trustee Berhad - Areca Dynamic Growth Fund, with more than 14% of shares held. The Group is driven by its twin divisions of technology and talent, of which the former made up of software asset management, software procurement lifecycle management and multi-cloud management services, whilst the latter primarily offers change management, competency and career development services, focusing on upskilling and reskilling talents for lifelong learning in the sectors of ICT, oil & gas, and other industries.[1] Prestariang has by far, distributed & managed over 6,300,000 software licenses, and trained & certified more than 260,000 individuals.[2]
History
Prestariang Systems Sendirian Berhad started its humble beginning in 2003, as a training provider company, founded by Dr Abu Hasan Bin ismail right after he formed his first company, Logisys Sendirian Berhad. Being an academia first and entrepreneur second, Dr Abu Hasan saw the nation's need to enhance human potential through lifelong learning and develop local talents for global market, established the Company in supporting the nation to brace for the ebb and flow of its developing digital economy.
The Company first contract was awarded by Ministry of Education in 2004, under the Bimbingan Perguruan Profesional dalam Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (BPPT) project, which provided ICT integration training for more than 100,000 teachers nationwide.[3] A year later. Prestariang Systems Sendirian Berhad was awarded with Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Malaysia Status, garnering the Company numerous other contracts and charting its growth through the 2000s.
As the Company grew in a steady pace, delivering products and human capital development training programmes that benefitted the society, Dr Abu Hasan took the Company a step further by getting it public in 2011[4], as its major shareholder to venture on unchartered territories for the betterment of Nation's economy.
Business Specialty
Prestariang is a specialist in provision of training, certification and software license distribution & management. The Group's headquarter is located at Star Central in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.[4]
Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Prestariang Systems Sendirian Berhad, Prestariang has chalked a remarkable training and software distribution track record, cutting across over 1,123 government agencies, 10,000 schools and universities, along with 24 government ministries[2], impacted the nation positively in supporting the its digital transformation agenda.
Prestariang also ventured into tertiary education via one of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Prestariang Education Sendirian Berhad, the former owner and operator of University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (UNIMY)[5], offering more than 10 courses under its foundation, diploma, degree and postgraduate programmes. Through UNIMY, Prestariang produces more than 300 graduates that are industry-ready and well-equipped to be the nation's next technopreneur. On 25 February 2020, Prestariang announced its intention to dispose equity interest held in Prestariang Education Sendirian Berhad[6], and exit from the tertiary education business. Prestariang explained that the decision was driven by its rationalisation plan to divest non-core assets in getting the Group to a better financial footing.

- Technical and Vocational Certifications - Prestariang Skills Training Institute (PSTI). PSTI offers variety of in-house and public programs for the corporate & government industries within Malaysia and across Asia.[7]
- Border Control System - Prestariang SKIN Sendirian Berhad (PSKIN). PSKIN entered into a Concession Agreement dated 9 August 2017 with the Government of Malaysia via the Ministry of Home Affairs to implement 'Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional' (SKIN). The project however has been discontinued on 19 January 2019 via expropriation.[8]
