Preventeeth is an oral hygiene teaching app created and developed by Alexandre Gambiez. One of the principal features of Preventeeth are training guides that teach how to brush teeth. It also gives users specific recommandations depending on their habits such as the type of toothbrush they use. The app is currently available for free on iOs and Android in France, Luxembourg and Belgium.
Preventeeth is primarily used to teach the user oral hygiene techniques through exercises; exercises can consist of an interactive animation with or without voiceover giving the users the instructions to follow in order to improve his oral hygiene. Exercises can also consist of a "Blind test" or a "Check your Brush" exercise to encourage the user. For each exercise completed, the user gain points that are added up and make the "Toothscore". The higher the Toothscore, the better.
Custom exercises and recommandations
After opening the app for the first time, the user is asked questions about his smoking habits, brushing habits and eating habits. The app then gives the user custom recommandations depending on what was answered previously. Specific exercises are also selected and given to the user.
