Pride of Britain Hotels is a hotel marketing consortium and organisation,[1] representing independent hotels in the United Kingdom. Established in 1983 by British hoteliers, Pride of Britain Hotels is headquartered in the Cotswolds, south-central England. The collection of 54 hotels[2] includes properties in city, countryside and coastal locations of the British Isles. All Pride of Britain Hotels Members are inspected annually. Admission of a new member to the group is subject to each hotel successfully passing an anonymous overnight inspection and a ballot of the membership.
History
The consortium was founded in 1983 by a group of British hoteliers led by the Milsom Hotels & Restaurants group founder, Gerald Milsom, OBE.[3] The not-for-profit organisation was set up as a UK-specific hotel marketing collection. The founders' aim was to build a community of hoteliers from the United Kingdom and pool their resources for a collaborative marketing approach.
