Primus Power is a California-headquartered stationary battery energy storage company that planned to develop and commercialize a long duration zinc bromine flow battery, called the EnergyPod. Since its founding in 2009, Primus has received over $100M[1] in equity capital from international venture capital and strategic investors, and over $30M in government grants from the United States Department of Energy, ARPA-E, and the California Energy Commission.

Primus Power has not delivered on projects such as a waste water trial with Victor Valley [2] and a 2MWh project with Anaergia has instead been supplied by a Zn-Br flow battery competitor, Redflow[3]

As of August 2022, the Primus Power website lists Tom Stepien and GJ la O’ as key personnel, however their LinkedIn profiles advise that they have other roles in other companies now. The news section of the website provides general renewables posts, but no updates since 2017 on projects or development of their Energy Pods. It therefore appears that Primus Power is no longer actively manufacturing or commercializing their Energy Pods.[4]
