Prince McLean (born 17th July, 1986) is a professional mixed martial artist from Cincinnati, Ohio. McLean has been fighting professionally since 2006. He was a competitor in The Ultimate Fighter season 7 in 2008. McLean is a heavyweight fighter and stands 6'5 inches tall. He currently weighs 265 lbs.

Training[edit]

McLean currently trains out of Jorge Gurgel Mixed Martial Arts Center in Cincinnati, OH. Additionally he regularly trains at Nashville MMA Training Camp.

McLean also cross-trains in Pori, Finland at Pori Stallion Boxing Gym for part of the year for personal reasons. He has been widely noted by Finnish press. For example the largest subscription newspaper of the country, Helsingin Sanomat, has published his interview.[2]

Career[edit]

Prince McLean began his professional career with in the early 2000s in Columbus, Ohio under Team Hammer House with team mates and UFC hall of famed Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, and Wesley Sims. He trained and traveled under the management for years before moving closer to home back to his hometown Cincinnati. Jiu-Jitsu black belt and UFC super star Jorge Gurgel saw promise in the young fighter and took interest in taking Prince in at his school in Middletown, Ohio. The school soon grew along with it's talent and fighters including UFC Middleweight Champion Rich “Ace” Franklin.

Personal life[edit]

McLean was born in 1986 and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Growing up in the inner city fighting was a part of his upbringing. Later he embraced his childhood brawls and said it helped him become a better competitor. He was a stand out State-level wrestler from private Catholic High School Purcell Marian Cincinnati Ohio. He later on took that start into a professional fighting career. He had his first child, a daughter, in 2003 and also has 4 other children. McLean's pro fighting career and life was put on hold in early 2010s due to a drug conviction and other charges that followed. After his release he was given a second chance and a new foundation with the Salvation Army Christian Ministry. With rehabilitation proven evident he has since returned to the ring and is actively hoping to climb the ranks in MMA and Kickboxing World of Combat sports. With a very charismatic and big personality McLean has shown himself to be a very ambiguous personality.
