Princess Aderemi Folasade Adebowale is a Nigerian public-health professional, healthcare entrepreneur, and government administrator.[1] She currently serves as the National Programme Manager of the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (RH-NHGSFP), a federal social-investment initiative under Nigeria’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.[2]

She previously served as the Special Adviser on Civic Engagement to the Lagos State Governor from 2019 to 2023.[3] Prior to that, she served as the Sole Administrator of Iru-Victoria Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA).[4]

Early life and education

Adebowale attended Ireti Primary School and Christ Church Cathedral School in Lagos.[1] She briefly attended Yaba College of Technology for her Ordinary National Diploma (OND) before traveling abroad to train as a nurse.[1] She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the International University in Bamenda, Cameroon.[1]

Career

United States healthcare sector

Adebowale spent over two decades working within the United States healthcare system as a nurse and entrepreneur.[1] She founded Remindales Healthcare Agency, a nursing agency that supplied registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to hospitals and long-term care institutions.[1] She also established Serenity Manor LLC, a residential healthcare facility catering to individuals with health challenges.[3] During this period, she also practiced as a clinician in various healthcare settings.[1]

Local government administration

In 2016, Adebowale served as the Sole Administrator of Iru-Victoria Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State.[4] In this role, she oversaw environmental cleanup exercises in Victoria Island.[5] She also collaborated with corporate partners, such as Zenith Bank, to develop the "Serenity Park and Gardens" at the Eko Hotel roundabout.[6]

Lagos State Government

In August 2019, Adebowale was appointed Special Adviser on Civic Engagement to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.[7] Her office was responsible for bridging the gap between the government and residents through social advocacy and support programmes.[8] She utilized the role to promote collective security and social stability in the state.[8]

National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme

In August 2024, Adebowale was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the National Programme Manager of the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (RH-NHGSFP).[2] The programme aims to provide nutritious meals to pupils in public primary schools to boost enrollment and support local agriculture.[9]

Political and media activity

Adebowale is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).[1] In 2019, she was an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for the Epe Federal Constituency.[1] She has also worked in media, hosting the television programme AskPrincess and writing as a freelance columnist for The Nation newspaper.[1]
