Princess Funmilola Fisher popularly referred to as Princess Wonda is a Nigerian Afrobeat and R&B singer who was born in London.[1][2][3] In 2010, she was featured in a charity song aired on BET to help raise funds for the Haiti earthquake victims.[4]

Early life and education[edit]

Funmilola was born in London but moved to Nigeria at age 3 where she stayed for 8 years. She was born to a Yoruba man from Abeokuta and a woman of Benin and Calabar heritage.

She completed her secondary school education at Crown Woods Academy and holds a degree in Advertising & Public Relations from the Middlesex University.[1]

Career[edit]

Princess Wonda started her career performing at popular school plays such as Oliver Twist and High School Musical during her days in Crown Woods Academy. She was into modelling for Ghanaian jewellery designers, modeled at the Ankara International Music Festival and for Kiwi and Yam collection.[4]

She was mentored by Lawrence Johnson,who has worked with Disney on Aladdin's soundtracks, as her voice coach to improve on her vocal ability.[5]She worked for sometime for MOBO award-winning rapper Dappy as a session singer and performed with Grammy award winner Israel Houghton. In 2010, she was featured in a charity song aired on BET to help raise funds for the Haiti earthquake victims.

In 2020, Princess Wonda announced and released her debut single titled 'City Boys', she also released a music video for the song.[6]
