Pritisha Borthakur is an Indian journalist, poet, mental health advocate, and entrepreneur from Assam. [1] [2][3] [4] [5] She is also a national level Table Tennis Player. [6][7]

Early life[edit]

Pritisha was born and brought up in Nagaon, Assam. She pursued English literature from Gargi College, Delhi University, and PG Diploma in Journalism from Pioneer Media School.

Career[edit]

Pritisha has worked with reputed media publication houses, such as The Pioneer, The Times of India, Times Internet Ltd, Iris Publication Pvt Ltd, Fairfest Media Ltd, DigiLife, Expressions Magazine, Mindworks Media (The Gulf Tabloid), and GoYaNo. Currently she is associated with Eastmojo as a Consulting Editor. While she is best known as a writer and explorer of the subjects of music, dance, art, travel, and culture, she also is passionate about serious works that will make a profound impact on society. These topics include parenting, education, discrimination against Northeastern people, the extinction of Jarawas tribe, lack of sanitary napkin disposal measures, and insufficient medical facilities for the poor and needy in India. Pritisha also has interests in poetry and has written an Assamese poetry book entitled “Anubhav.” Her first self-directed film was a documentary called Wake Up Call. Her upcoming work is an illustrated children’s book, to be published nationally and globally, in October 2020.[8]

Social Activities[edit]

Pritisha has been aggressively working on raising mental health awareness since 2018 through Storyweavers. Art After Dark provides an offline platform for people from varied fields, to have an organic interaction in this virtual world, to speak one’s heart out without being judged, and to spread positivity through art. So far Storyweavers has organised 5 events in Guwahati and Gurgaon. ArtfulPeace Cumulative on the other hand is a digital campaign that blends art, lifestyle, and professional medical counselling to address mental health issues and heal minds. The first edition saw 80+ musicians, poets, storytellers, lifestyle coaches, medical professionals, combined, coming on board to support the cause. [9] [10]
