Pronab Sen is an Indian economist and statistician[1]. He has served as the Chairman of Indian Statistical Commission and was the first Chief Statistician of India[2]. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and has also served as the Principal Advisor of Power and Energy at the Government of India Planning Commission department.
Career[edit]
He has served as the Head of the India's national statistical system. In Planning Commission, he was the principal author and coordinator of Mid-term Appraisal of the Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Five Year Plan.
