Prospect City Publishing is a North American Music publishing company and is part of the Alternative Music Group. Prospect City Publishing wasn't formed until it merged with Alternative Music Publishing, making AMP (Alternative Music Publishing) shut down in March of 2020, the same month Alternative Music Group was founded. Prospect City Publishing is not officially founded and available to the public; currently, this publishing company is still being worked on by Alternative Music Group and Alternative Incorporated as an agreement from AMG (Alternative Music Group) shutting down Alternative Music Publishing back in April.
Prospect City Publishing has Alternative Music Group as its parent company, and operates as an invitation-only publishing company, meaning that artists or labels can get their music and works published without being signed to Alternative Music Group/Publishing.
History
Prospect City Publishing was not quite officially active or founded[1]. Prospect City Publishing was based on the closure of Alternative Music Publishing, which was founded for a couple of weeks after the founding of Alternative Music Group. Alternative Music Group was created to serve as a publisher for music and works, then to be closed to make way for Prospect City Publishing to move away from the name usage of the word Alternative. This decision caused issues with the parent company, Alternative Incorporated and Alternative Music Group. Both companies made an agreement to create the publishing company that is now known as Prospect City Publishing; that agreement was founded in August of 2020 and is still being worked on to this day, leading to Alternative Music Group changing their name into Alternative Music Group/Publishing. Making this publishing company active but not official.

Owner Company
Prospect City Publishing's owner company is Alternative Incorporated.
Disputes
With the introduction of music and works publishing amongst record labels and artists, Alternative Incorporated and Alternative Music Group disputed over figuring out and agreeing to whether to retain the name "Alternative," the type of company, and whether it should be connected with Alternative Music Group as a division. Both Alternative Music Group and Alternative Incorporated dealt with this matter, keeping it quiet amongst the public. Now, as of August of this year, Prospect City Publishing was agreed upon and created.
Alternative Music Group & Alternative Incorporated
With the creation of Alternative Music Group, they created their own affiliated music and works publishing company in March, then the teams of both Alternative Music Group and Alternative Incorporated had disputes over keeping the name "Alternative" or creating a new name outside of its usage. Over the months following the takedown and closure of Alternative Music Publishing, both Alternative Music Group and the closed company, which was a week old, combined. Making Alternative Music Group/Publishing, but they do not use the full name, as they also do publishing. The teams decided not to use the full name, but display the publishing name on their official Instagram, leading to some iconic themes[2]. As the months passed, both companies were deciding what this new publishing company should be and how it should work. Alternative Music Group complained to Alternative Incorporated about how a publishing company was very necessary so that the company would not shut down due to the overwork. Alternative Incorporated chose to make this new publishing company non-affiliated with Alternative Music Group, leading to what is known, for right now at least, as Prospect City Publishing.
