Protech Group (formerly Protech Chemicals) is a Canadian coating and paints manufacturer.[2][3] The company manufactures powder coatings, paints, and specialty materials. Protech Group is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec and primarily operates in Canada, United States, Mexico and Europe.[4][5][6]

History[edit]

Protech Group was founded in 1976 in Montreal, Quebec.[7] In 2004, the company acquired Oxyplast Powder Coatings, a Belgium powder-coatings manufacturer.[8][9] The company acquired Belgium based Flanders Powder Coatings in 2007.[10]

Protech Group acquired the thermoplastic powder coatings business of Innotek in 2012.[11] The following year they acquired Cleveland based NPA Coatings’ powder coating division, a subsidiary of Nippon Paint.[12]

In 2018, Protech Group acquired Chemionics, an American plastisol and latex manufacturer, in Tallmadge, Ohio.[13]

During 2020, the company acquired the American liquid coating manufacturer Winslow Browning.[14] The same year, Protech Group announced the acquisition of the coatings division of France-based ACG Industry.[15]

In 2021, the company acquired the liquid coating business of Excalibur Paints & Coatings in Wichita Falls, Texas.[16][17]
