Psychreg is a psychology website[2] that runs a blog, a podcast, and an open access journal, Psychreg Journal of Psychology.[3] Psychreg publishes contents on psychology, mental health and well-being.[4] Psychreg is based in the United Kingdom[5] and was launched on March 2014 as a directory of people with interest in psychology.[6]

Etymology[edit]

Psychreg is a portmanteau of psychology and registry, a reference to its origin being a 'registry' of people with interest in psychology.[7]

People[edit]

Dennis Relojo-Howell is the founder of the website.[8][9] Relojo-Howell is one of the most followed mental health bloggers on Twitter and YouTube.[10][11] He grew up in a slum in the Philippines and currently lives in London.[12]

Contributors on Psychreg have profiles on the website.[13] Notable contributors include Anna Kennedy, Mandy Sanghera, and Victoria Tischler.

Events[edit]

Psychreg hosts academic conferences. It collaborates with organisations and universities such as the Asian Psychological Association,[14] Global Psychology and Language Research Association[15] New Era University,[16]University of Bacau,[17] and Universiti Malaysia Sabah.[18][19]

Resources[edit]

Psychreg runs a directory of mental health blogs known as Psychreg Index[20] and Gratis Index which is a directory of scholarly journals in social sciences that does not charge publication fees. Psychreg manages the International Society on Psychology, Counselling and Education.[21]

Psychreg is recognised as one of the top psychology blogs[22][23] and was voted as a Highly Commended Blog at the UK Blog Awards in 2017[24] and 2018.[25]It is named as one of the top healthcare blogs in the UK.[26]Psychreg has also been named as one of the top mental health blogs in the UK.[27]Psychreg manages the International Society on Psychology, Counselling and Education.[21]
