The Pulau Besar Museum (Malay: Muzium Pulau Besar) is a museum in Besar Island, Malacca, Malaysia.[1][2]
History
The museum was opened on 22 November 2010 by the Malacca State Government to transform the island into a tourist destination.[3][4] It became the 23rd museum constructed by the Malacca Museum Corporation.[3][dead link]
Exhibitions
The museum exhibits historical artifacts from Besar Island and Indonesia. It shows the role of the island as the water source for the sailors from China and Europe during their travel through the Malacca Strait. It also explains information about Malacca Island.
Opening time
The museum opens every day from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.[3]
Transportation
The museum is accessible from mainland Malacca by speed boat departing from Umbai Jerry at Umbai or by ferry from Anjung Batu Jetty.[1]
