The Tradition and Custom Museum (Malay: Muzium Adat Istiadat) or Alor Gajah Museum (Malay: Muzium Alor Gajah) is a museum in Alor Gajah, Malacca, Malaysia.[1]

History[edit]

The museum was built in 1989 and officiated by Malacca Chief Minister Rahim Thamby Chik on 19 October 1990 under the name Alor Gajah District Museum and placed under the management of Alor Gajah Municipal Council. The museum was then transferred to Malacca Museums Corporation and renamed the Tradition and Custom Museum.[2]

Architecture[edit]

The museum has a traditional Malay house architecture.

Exhibitions[edit]

The museum exhibits artifacts and the socio-economic activities of Alor Gajah local communities. It focuses on the history of Alor Gajah district which includes the history of various prominent figures of the district as well as customs and traditions of Malay wedding ceremony.
