Punting on the Avon

Punting on the Avon is a tourism business offering guided punt tours on the Avon River / Ōtākaro in central Christchurch, New Zealand. The company has two departure points and routes: tours departing from the Antigua Boat Sheds travel through the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, and tours departing from the Worcester Bridge travel through the central city past Victoria Square[1]. Punting tours are ranked as a top activity in Christchurch on TripAdvisor[2].
Punting on the Avon began in 1986 based at the Edmonds Band Rotunda. Punting in the Park opened in 1994 at the Antigua Boat Sheds. The two companies were merged in 2007 to become Punting on the Avon Limited.
The company is currently operated by Christchurch Attractions, which also operates the Christchurch Gondola and Christchurch Tram.
