Push Trump off a Cliff Again is a browser game developed by the California-based writer and coder Justin Hook.[1] The game was released to coincide with Donald Trump's presidential campaign in 2016, with the game's title being a reference to Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again".[2] The game gained traction after it was promoted by the American comedian Rosie O'Donnell on Twitter.[3]
Development[edit]
Soon after the game's creation, the game was promoted on another one of Hook's products, Google Feud.[4] On July 15, 2017, the game was promoted on Twitter by American comedian Rosie O'Donnell, giving the game a spike in popularity.[5]
Gameplay[edit]
The game features the player as Donald Trump, who the player is supposed to jump off a cliff to his death,[6] however, the game also features other maps, where Trump dies in other ways, such as making him fall down a manhole.[4] The game utilizes the arrow keys to make Trump walk, while the space bar makes him jump.[7]
Reception[edit]
Multiple people criticized Push Trump off a Cliff Again for being too violent.[8][9] In a blog, American talk show host and conservative politcal commentator Sean Hannity called the game "gross" and "sick."[10] A few days after the game was published, over 3 million people had played the game.[4]
