Ramone Javon Griffith, known professionally as RJ Griffith, is an American singer and songwriter. He gained popularity after his original song “Good Day” was selected to be the theme song for the WFLD Fox Good Day Chicago newscast.[1].
Early life
Griffith was born in Bellwood, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. He also shared the role of Jefferson Albert Tibbs in the 2001 movie Hardball (film) with his twin brother[2]
Career
In addition to his song “Good Day” being the theme song for Fox Good Day Chicago, Griffith’s song “Haunted By My Past” also appeared in the independent film The Assumptions. [3] Previously he was part of the international recording group, Zion’s Joy[4] and he’s performed at multiple Obama Foundation events[5] and The Star-Spangled Banner at the Chicago White Sox game[6]. Griffith also started his own nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Positive Vibes Only, which serves primarily as an open mic social club for Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana youth.[7]
