RT Connect is a commercial Oncology Information System software.[1] Developed and marketed by RT Medical Systems. RT Connect was first released in May 2017 as a web application . RT Connect is an image centering, archiving and communication system.[2][3] RT Connect is used in hospitals by medical physicists, medical dosimetrists, radiation oncologists and other professionals.[4] The software has already acted in the treatment of more than 18 thousand patients.[5]
Introduction[edit]
The beta version of RT Connect was launched in 2017 as a web platform. In 2018, the company integrates the NVIDIA Inception acceleration program.[6] In 2021 the system is elected as one of the 10 most innovative in the world in the Radiology segment by Industry Wired magazine.[7][8] In June 2021, the system is presented at the largest health event in the world, the BIO International Convention.[9][10]
Resources[edit]
Interoperability[edit]
The Software allows connection to different systems and machines in a oncology center. It also interfaces to systems outside the radiation oncology department, including the hospital information system (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), radiology information system (RIS) and PACS. Interoperability is performed through interfaces HL7 and DICOM.[11]
Language[edit]
RT Connect is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The extent of localization varies from full product translation to documentation only.[11]
DICOM Viewer[edit]
RT Connect has been specifically designed for navigation and visualization of multimodality and multidimensional images: 2D Viewer, 3D Viewer,Radiotherapy Plan Viewer (DVH, ISODOSE, Structures, DRR). The 3D Viewer offers all modern rendering modes: Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR), Volume Rendering and Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP). RT connect helps to improve visualization of anatomy by reducing artifacts related to metal inside the body.[12][11]
Secondary monitor unit calculations[13][edit]
The RT Connect is a zero-footprint medical image viewer and Independent dosimetric verification software for secondary check. The software performs Monitor Unit Calculations using Modified Clarkson Integration for Linacs 3D, IMRT, VMAT, TomoTherapy, CyberKnife and Halcyon[9][1]
Offline Review Web[edit]
RT Connect provides registration of 2D MV planar images and DRR, making offline review patient position correction possible.[14][2]
