Raafay Israr is a Pakistani singer, composer and songwriter.[1] He is known for his song "Wajah Kia Thi" (What was the reason). He has appeared on BBC Asian Network Live Sessions.
Biography[edit]
Raafay Israr was born and raised in Karachi.[2] After performing all over Pakistan, in 2018 Raafay launched his first music video ‘Sajni’[3] under the label of Zee Music Company. His second song ‘Beliya”[4][5] which was an acoustic ballad was released by T-Series[6] and it was also nominated at Shaan-e-Pakistan Music Awards for best pop music. Raafay's song 'Man Ki Lagan' was also covered on Gulf News.[7]
His song[8] ‘Wajah Kia Thi’[9][10][11] gained critical acclaim.[12][13] Later he collaborated with Patari on the unplugged version of 'Wajah Kia Thi'.[14][15] Raafay[16] has also appeared on BBC Asian Network’s Live Sessions.[17] Raafay was nominated singer of the year at IPPA Awards 2019.[18] He has been actively performing throughout Pakistan and internationally including USA and Dubai.
Collaborations[edit]
Raafay’s first collaboration was with guitarist and music producer Kashan Admani on his song Man Ki Lagan. In 2019, he released a duet song ‘Khushfemiyan’[19][20] with singer Alycia Dias.[21][22][23] Raafay Israr[24] is also a part of global collaboration ‘We Are One’ initiated by Kashan Admani.
