RadioBOSS is a radio automation software developed by DJSoft.net.[1][2][3][4][5]
History[edit]
Development started in 2003 as a playout automation system for a local FM radio station.
- version 1.0 (2003) - First public release. Not very successful; most of the original development team members decided to leave the project.
- RadioBOSS 2.1 (2005) - Software name changed to RadioBOSS. Released version 2.1, the first version to earn user interest.
- RadioBOSS 2.8 (2007) - Added features designed for Internet radio stations.
- RadioBOSS 4.0 (2009) - Software divided into editions (Express, Standard, Advanced), redesigned user interface, new major features added. Software became popular in its niche.[6]
Technologies[edit]
Written in Delphi language with some C++ additions. Uses BASS library for audio playback. Works on Windows operating system.
Supports streaming to Shoutcast, Icecast, Windows media server; has its own streaming server.
Supports playback of MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, OGG, APE, OPUS, CD audio and other file formats.

Development of every major release is accompanied with open beta testing where anyone can take part in software development by proposing new ideas and finding bugs.[7]

RadioBOSS is used by thousands of radio stations in 125 countries (as of 2017).[8]
