Raffaele Capuano (born September 24, 1996), known by his stage name South RC[1], is an Italian model and rapper. He was scouted at age 17 by Italian fashion designer Francesco Scognamglio and signed with modeling agency D’management Group shortly after.[2]

Early Life[edit]
Capuano was born in Naples, Italy. He has two siblings, an older brother from his mother’s first marriage, and a younger sister from the same parents.[3] Growing up, he played a variety of sports, such as football, tennis, and swimming, but found passion in music.[4] As a young boy, he remembered his mother playing music in the car while he was singing and dancing along. She further inspired him to experience the world and be curious about life, leading Capuano to leave his home in Italy at age 17 to seek new surroundings.
Modeling Career[edit]
Capuano was scouted by Francesco Scognamglio at 17 years old in the streets of Italy. Through him, he signed his first modeling contract with D’management Group. The following year, he walked his first runway show for Dsquared. After the success of his first show, he decided to move to Milan and pursue a full-time modeling career. While under D’management, he appeared in campaigns for Armani and Dolce & Gabbana and was featured in GQ and Vogue.[5] As his career took off, he decided to join Elite Model Management. where he appeared in ad campaigns for Victoria’s Secret[6] and famous Italian fashion designer, Elisabetta Franchi.[7]
Music Career[edit]
In addition to modeling, Capuano released several hip hop songs under the name South RC. In 2021, he released “Business”, an anthem about his unique life as a music artist and model and how he balanced the business side of both career paths. “Fresh Zone” boasts a unique UK beat with rap lyrics focused on police brutality.[8]
Personal Life[edit]
Aside from modeling and rapping, Capuano is vocal about injustices within the legal system and donates his time to help the less fortunate. A self-proclaimed travel enthusiast, he is never idle in one place with a recent focus in moving to Los Angeles, California.
