"Rager Teenager!" is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Troye Sivan from his fifth EP, In a Dream (2020).[1][2] It was released on 5 August 2020 by EMI, Universal and Capitol Records as the third single from the EP.[3][4]
Music and lyrics[edit]
"Rager Teenager!" features "chaotic drums", a "full melodic breakdown", and "backing synths".[5] The song is about Sivan's longing for the wild lifestyle of his more debauched teenage days after he meets with a former lover.[1][3]
Reception[edit]
Stephen Daw of Billboard called the track a "slow burn" but that it shows the "sheer insight of Sivan’s songwriting".[5]
Music video[edit]
Sivan released the self-directed music video for "Rager Teenager!" on 5 August 2020.[6][7] The music video shows Sivan lounging in an empty bathtub.[1][3] As the video continues, Sivan's face becomes distorted.[3]
